This is my entry to the Jerusalem 2111 short film contest.
It got in the first place and won a cash prize of $10,000.
More importantly, it got international exposure and still pops up in news media around the world. Will it lead to a development deal and a high-octane action flick? Time will tell...

Standby

Standby from Carol Rhyu on Vimeo.

From Carol Rhyu's website:
STANDBY is the last of three short films I produced at AFI. For me the film’s all about youth, naivete, adventure, hope, insecurity, confusion, and socially awkward situations. It’s about the rare and few people we meet along the way that irreversibly change us for better or worse.

This is a short documentary about my close family: My mom and my dad, which I've met for the first time when I was twenty years old.
Even though it was made more than three years ago, I haven't managed to top it yet... Hopefully my next short does ;-)

2008 Animation Showreel

Showreel 2008 from David Gidali on Vimeo.

This summer was packed with new experiences, I moved to Berlin and worked there as 3D consultant and TD at Cartoon-Film, developing their feature film pipeline in parallel to the production of their first fully CG feature "Laura's Stern 2: in China", among other things.

Just before I left Israel, I collected and did a rough edit of my past personal projects.
